Last Minute Christmas Treats Inspired by TikTok

Christmas is almost here. The mulled wine is flowing, and the smell of gingerbread is everywhere you go. It’s a time to relax, indulge, and unwind. Most of us will be spending the holidays with family and friend, shutting off our emails and taking a digital cleanse from social media. When you’re enjoying some much-needed time away from your screen, it’s the perfect opportunity to make some last-minute Christmas treats.

Whether you’re staying at home, hosting friends, or going to a party, it’s always a good idea to have some Christmas treats in your kitchen. If there’s one place that we love to go to for food inspiration, it’s TikTok! The viral video sharing platform has filled our FYP page with mouth-watering snacks that are guaranteed to give us a sugar rush.

We’re sharing a few of our favourite last-minute Christmas treats that are inspired by TikTok. Each of these recipes are easy to make, beginner-friendly, and only require a few ingredients. If you’re running behind on your Christmas shopping, why not bake some treats instead? These Christmas treats are guaranteed to earn you serious brownie points.

Rudolph’s Marshmallow Pops

Start by taking a small bag of pretzels and breaking them in two, adding them to a bowl and setting it aside. Using a bag of large brown marshmallows, apply each of them to the top of a skewer. Take your favourite chocolate and blend it in the microwave or on the stove until it develops a smooth and rich texture.

Use the skewer to dip the marshmallow into the melted chocolate, allowing it to become fully covered in chocolate. Remove the marshmallow from the bowl and place it on a line baking tray at an angle using the skewer to balance it.

Take two pieces of pretzels and use them as ears at the top of your marshmallow before adding two eyes to the bottom. You can use a red sweet or sprinkle as the nose. Chill it in the fridge for at least an hour or until the chocolate fully sets.

You can present these marshmallow pops in a mason jar as a gift or use them as a snack for your family holiday party. They’re a hit with kids and adults alike!

Christmas M&Ms Cookies

It’s not Christmas without seasonal cookies. These treats are the perfect choice for fans of M&Ms and are an easy way to add a festive treat to your Christmas table. You can make these cookies in large batches as gifts or to see you through the holiday season. They’re the perfect snack for a day of watching your favourite Christmas films.

This recipe uses ingredients that you probably already have at home. Take two sticks of softened butter and mix with 1 cup of brown sugar, 2 large eggs, and ¾ cups of granulated sugar. Add a tablespoon of vanilla extract and a ¾ cup of all-purpose flour to your mixture before blending it all together. Throw in your red and green M&Ms along with traditional chocolate chips for an indulging snack.

You can even leave these cookies out for Santa or as a last-minute treat to make on Christmas Eve.

Grinch Brownies

One of the most popular Christmas baking videos on TikTok is by @playpartyplan and takes its inspiration from the Grinch. If it’s not on your Christmas film watch list, you’re not doing the holidays right!

These brownies are easy to make and a fun last-minute treat for making with kids or for an Instagram-worthy snack. Start by taking a large mixing bowl and adding 1 cup sugar, 1 cup brown sugar, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract and ½ teaspoon of salt. Add in two eggs and two yolks to the mixture, blending it until it becomes a smooth consistency.

In a separate bowl, use 1 stick of butter and 8oz of chocolate chips to create a rich and smooth chocolate by adding ½ cup of oil. Add this chocolate mixture to your first mixture, whisking them together. Once blended, add 1 ¼ cups of flour and ¼ cup of cocoa powder before mixing together and placing it in a baking tray.

Add a layer of Oreos to the top of the brownies before placing them in the oven. Use ¾ cup of cream and 12oz of white chocolate chips with a dash of green food colouring to create your Grinch topping. Sprinkle red embellishments to finish off your brownies.

Do you want to go all out with your Grinch theme? The same TikTok user has a ‘Grinch Punch’ recipe for all your green elixir needs.
