The easiest way to start this hair hack is to put your hair down, letting it frame your face. For an elevated look, you want to part your hair in the middle, taking two small sections of your hair. While Sarah left a smaller section of your hair out from the look, you might decide to use all your hair if it’s very greasy.
While your head is down, start by plating the first small section into a slim braid. Carry on braiding the hair until you reach the back of the crown of your hair. For a seamless look, skip using a hair bauble and choose an elastic instead that matches the colour of your hair. Use a few hair pins to attach the braid in place at the back of your hair.
Once you have the first braid in place, repeat the previous step for the other section of hair. You want to try and keep the two braids as even as possible, unless you prefer a messy and more natural look. It’s up to you to decide how sleek you want the finish to be.
Here is where the magic starts to happen. You want to use your fingertips to start loosening the braids slightly, making them appear like Dutch braids. Once they’ve loosened, you can ruffle them to make them look closer to a traditional French braid.
